Cobh is famous for being the last stop before the Titanic’s untimely demise. The town is now home to the Titanic Experience, which lets visitors discover the lives of those onboard the Titanic and experience what life was like on the ship. Due to technological advances, visitors can even get a sense of what it felt like to sink in the Titanic. Book online at www.titanicexperiencecobh.ie.
Fota Wildlife Park
Located just outside Cork City, Fota is a zoo with a difference. Animals including tigers, giraffes and zebras are free to roam open spaces, with trained professionals looking after them. Fota is also easily accessed by car or by train from Kent Station in Cork City.
The Jameson Experience, Midleton
Dublin may be famous for Guinness, but Cork is undoubtedly famous for Jameson whiskey, which is distilled in the Old Midleton Distillery. The Distillery is open to visitors, who can discover all about the history of Jameson, its distilling process, and its unique flavours. The buildings date back to the 1800s, with original kilns and pot stills on display, and have been used by Jameson since 1975 until the early 90s.
