What a year for Spanish Au Pair :)

What a year it has been.
We have had a great year and have many happy families around Ireland. We also have a new online first aid course that all Au Pairs must complete.

We also have a new sister agency call My Au We offer families a pay monthly option for placements.

Also 30% of our placement have stayed on longer than planned which is great news for families as they have stability in the long term.

I have been alarmed by the amount of agencies that have been appearing and disappearing on a constant basis. We have a certain caliber of Au Paris that we place and competition doesn’t bother me as we only specialize in Spanish Teachers, Childcare workers or people working with children. It is worrying for families as many of them are not insured and would not offer the support as many of the top agencies do. In choosing an agency please make sure they are part of INAPA (Irish National Au Pair Association)

Please remember that it is choosing some one to be with your kids on a daily basis and it is well worth taking time to find the right Au Pair.

Have a great New Year and roll on 2015

Safe home to all of our Spanish Au Pairs

What a fast year that was. It was a very busy year for us. We have many new projects coming in 2015 so exciting times ahead.

I would like to thank all of our Au Pairs & families for making the placements so successful. Safe home to every one travelling and I hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy new year. :)

Very Exciting Placements for August

We have been getting very positive feedback from families about our profiles for long term Au Pairs in August. Thanks to all our partner agencies in Spain as the calibre is really high this year. Many teachers, childcare workers are out of work in Spain and find Ireland as an ideal place to come and learn English. We only place Au Pairs that would like to work with children as a career. Please contact us if you have any questions.

Summer Au Pairs

Summer Au pairs are a wonderful option for families thinking of getting an Au Pair. Our programs run from July- August and we have experience Au Pairs who study teaching and childcare. Please contact info@spanishaupair for more information.

Au Pair in Donegal that worked 70 hours for 65 euro. Horrifying

There was a story published in the Irish Daily Mail about an Au Pair that had to work 70 hours for 65 euro per week. It made me angry, sad and sick to my stomach. It is hard to believe in this day and age that human beings could treat another human being like this. An Au Pair is here to sample the culture and be part of your family.

We have always carried out house calls and kept in touch with all of our Au Pairs. I find it hard to stomach that this poor girl had to endure this for 4 months before some one had contacted the police. So please if you know of any Au Pair being miss treated bring it to some ones attention.

Agencies are a voice for Au Pairs and thankfully we have had only two minor issues in relations to our placement. Both issues were resolved straight away and cleared the air for the rest of the placement.

The story yesterday was hard to believe. The Irish are such open hearted and kind people. The family that did this should be named and prosecuted. Its so wrong words cannot describe this story. So please I advise families to let their Au pair know that they are appreciated and never forget what they are here for. Thanks for reading.

Irish Au pairs needed in the U.S.A

Are you between the ages of 18 and 26 and love children? Have you ever dreamed of traveling to the United States? If so, then you may qualify to be an au pair with the Expert AuPair program.

As one of just a handful of US au pair sponsor agencies, the Expert AuPair program is truly the opportunity of a lifetime and it looks great on resumes. Based in St. Petersburg, Florida, we match international students with host families in the United States who need childcare. International au pairs work legally for host families, providing up to 45 hours of childcare per week, in return for a weekly salary, educational support, and free room and board for one year.

The US au pair program allows you to stay with a host family for one year, with a one-time optional extension. As an au pair, you will become intimately involved in the culture and family life of the United States. Few travel programs can offer anything close to this experience.

You will only be responsible for the US$500 program fee and the $100 airfare supplement, which will cover your round-trip flight from either Shannon Airport or Dublin Airport. The only other costs you can expect to incur are entertainment expenses during your stay with your host family. Please note that we will not ask you to make any payments until after you have been approved for your visa. Once you are matched with a host family, the average wait time for au pairs to arrive in the US is approximately four weeks.

When you work with us, we’ll help you with your embassy interview, the J-1 visa application process, we’ll supply you with health insurance, and we’ll fly you to St. Petersburg, Florida for orientation and CPR and First-Aid training before you start working for your host family. You’ll also receive US$500 toward your education at a US post-secondary institution and an income that will total at least US$10,100 during your stay!

If you are between 18 and 26 years old and you can meet the minimum requirements for being an au pair, please fill out an application and create your profile on If you have any questions about the application process or about the program, please email us at or call +1 727 388 3472.
